I was checking the stats on my Flickr page and saw that someone had linked to my photos from our fabulous (read: GAY!) Slumber Party we had at the end of March. Of course, the first item he picked up on was the fact that Amir had to break off the plastic seal that was put on the liquor bottle by the store because they didn’t take it off. An instead of taking it back with the receipt - they just hacked away at it with a hammer… great idea, right? :) Well, this guy picked up on it and instead of posting the pics of the condiment facial, he posts them to his site. Good times! We need to have more parties… more specifically, more POOL PARTIES!

Glad to have heard that! My boss called me this morning (yes - while I was on vacation, no less) and started the conversation by telling me that there has been a large surplus which has affected all levels of management; including ours, and that our team was affected. So after practically not getting a raise this year… and now this… my mind was racing! THEN she tells me “but I wanted to let you know that you’ve been retained”. WTF? Who says that!? She couldn’t say - don’t worry - you didn’t get laid off… or something to that affect. But no, I’ve been equated to a piece of property if felt like. Probably not her choice of words though. In any case, a big relief mostly… also anxiety because we’re already overloaded so now we’ll have more work to do to cover that person’s portfolio. Wonder who was let go… :-\

There’s also some tricep showing and that forearm wasn’t there either. I’m still stalled a bit at 138 lbs, but I also dipped down to 134 a month or so ago and was able to regain those lost pounds. I’m inching towards 140 and I’m still reaching for that goal of 150. I’ve learned new crunch techniques for my abs, and learned how to use the BoSu for my chest (which also works the abs at the same time). The gym is my sanctuary and boys are staring a bit longer than they were before. :-P

Oh… and the ass is fillin’ out too. Who knew - skinny white boys can get an ass! Oh, and as for yoga… lets just say, my balance and focus is getting much better. I can now do Crow (pictured) without falling. Furthermore, I can push back/launch myself into Plank and move down into my Vinyasa after. The next step would be to go into a headstand from Crow, then come back down into Crow, and then push back into Plank. I’m getting so excited and confident with my Yoga practice. Each session brings me more positive energy and I leave each time renewed and ready for more. I can’t wait for more! Our instructor just returned from India as well, so I’m eager to tap his new found Yoga practices!!

They’ve changed out their standard white background for black to raise awareness for Earth Hour, “an international event that asks households and businesses to turn off their lights…for one hour on the evening of 29 March at 8 pm local time until 9 pm to promote electricity conservation and thus lower carbon emissions.” While watching the video posted on their website, I started to wonder if Las Vegas was going to participate. But then I realized that they more than likely wouldn’t considering MGM lost $1 million a minute when their power went out earlier this year… so take that, times 60, times 24 (not counting non-LV Blvd Casinos), and you wind up with $1,440,000,000 “lost” income. That’s assuming that they’re all at about 90% capacity, etc etc etc. But still… on a Saturday Night, in Las Vegas… I’m sure there’s more than that being that there is 10 or so casinos on Fremont Street as well as Red Rock, and the Station Casinos. But who knows, maybe they’ll surprise us and show they care about the Earth… nah.

Update: Just saw Las Vegas was not on the list of cities involved… shocking.
