For Justin…

“My father is Abraham Lincoln. I mean, I think of Lincoln as my father. He was wise and kind and good. He is my ideal, Lincoln. I love him.”

Apparently, I have an "Undue Sense of Entitlement"!
I'll get to the reason behind the title of this post in a little bit, but first let me say - thank God 2008 is over with! Done. Finito. Adios. Goodbye! I don't say that because it was a 'bad' year, so to speak... but more a challenging one... as is every year that passes. But these past two years I've found myself to be a stronger person after the year is over and for that I am thankful. I've been somewhat MIA lately and through several reasons I will not bore anyone with - sufficient to say, I think I'm back... for now at least.
2008 was a fantastic year. I've met so many new friends, but also lost some; had several great trips and vacations, and some that weren't so great; but in the end, I'm thankful for every minute of every experience and grateful for what's to come in 2009. I am somewhat sad to have lost two relationships during the later months of the year but I feel it's for the best. The title refers to a comment made by the last person whom stopped talking to me because I stood up for myself and did not allow him to get away with speaking to me with disrespect - and when I called him on it, he obviously thought I was the one who was wrong. The next day, he had deleted me from all social network sites, etc (which, for the record, I find hilarious that MySpace, or Facebook are your 'official' friend counters *rolls eyes* anyway).
This was the second 'friend' that had severed ties - the first of which I have put behind me and have promised not to dwell on it - which would involve retelling the story here. Although it makes me sad to have lost friendships - I truly feel it was for the best. I wish them both the best in their paths.
My 2-Day Boyfriend from Orlando
They always live elsewhere, don't they?
What a weekend though! It had it's share of drama (what trip with all mo's doesn't, right?),
but I think that has to be one of the best (if not THE best) vacation/trip I've ever had (save the Italy trip, of course). The parties were great - the pool was HOT! - and the after-hours went on long after I retired to the condo. There a gobs of pictures on flickr, under the OMW 2008 set (including the flowers I sent to the boy I met out there). I believe - from the look of it - we have arrived. We are the A-Gays now. Or close to it... maybe B-Gays? LOL! Nonetheless, I had such a good time, it's for sure going to be a repeat event. I ran into a ton of people from DC and Baltimore that I wasn't expecting to see and some I was and glad I ran into. It's a total clusterfuck when you get there - the first main event is at Typhoon Lagoon (water park) - so obviously, you leave your cell phone in the locker so no one has any way to contact anyone else. How did we live without cell phones?!?! Most of the others (with the exception of the pool parties) aren't that difficult to get ahold of anyone since you're wearing more than just a skimpy swimsuit.
So, yea, back to that other topic - - - what can I say?
All I can do is shake my head in awe and smile. For the first time, I've changed my status - granted it's not
"official" I suppose - but it's defintely somethyng other than "Single". One of those people you can't get out of your head... ya know? I suppose it wouldn't hurt to see where it goes, right? Perhaps the 2-Day Boyfriend will turn into a 1-Week Boyfriend here shortly when he visits... and then a 2-Week Boyfriend when I see him next... hmm... all this travel! I better get some mileage out of this! LOL!
The Only Thing Constant is Change
And with that said - a new blog design. Some other changes: Anthony moved to New York yesterday, I'm sorta kinda possibly seeing a great guy, frequenting the new LVAC that's less than 5 minutes away, and I've started working with a friend helping him keep his business organized.
Having some mixed feelings about Anthony moving away... he'd become a really good friend out here who I [slightly] depended on - someone I could talk to other than Mandy about practically anything. Now he's on the other side of the country... 2,537 miles to be exact... and even though we have IM, Text Messaging, E-Mail, etc etc etc - it still sucks that one more person moved away that I'd become really good friends with. I think that's something I'm going to have to get used to here. Las Vegas is a very transient city - much like DC - but I think it's more so. A lot of people I know talk about moving away from here and I'm sure it's only a matter of time. But thankfully - that shell of introversion has chipped away and I find it much easier to make new friends here. I'm sure that'll change when I eventually move away - but until then - I'm still enjoying Sin City.
Homos… and Mickey!
Oh boy... 24 days to go and I'll be in Orlando with a gazillion other homos for GayDays. Mix emotions are running through me though... I'm very much excited about this trip - but I'm a little worried...
this is one of the few trips I've basically gone on where I've gotta keep an eye out for myself. Most (read: all) the people I know so far that are going are into 'partying'... and if you don't know what that means, then don't worry - took me a while to figure it out too. In any case... I'm a bit worried that I'll be at a party, or club... and they'll get all wacked out and I get separated and end up not knowing anyone. I've grown out of my introverted shell for the most part - but that sort of situation throws a bit of anxiety in the mix and I really want to have a great time.
I'm sure I'm worrying over nothing... but part of it is that Anthony isn't flying from Vegas... he's flying from NY... why? Because he's moving there in like 10 days. Anthony had become a local best friend and now that he's moving away... it just sucks. No mushy stuff needed... it just plain sucks.
Anyway... just a bit anxious about the trip and all - but I'm sure it'll work out for the best.
Can't wait for those pictures! WOOT WOOT! HAHA!
Ohhh that's the spot!
What a wonderful way to start the day... Kiley took a new shift on Tuesdays which happens to be a little slow in the mornings, and she offered to let me come in and get a massage if I was able to get there at 7am. So I think... 50 minute massage... I usually get "to the office" (read: roll out of bed) around 8.30-9a anyway... perfect!! Had to get up extra early (5.45a!) just to make sure I got there on time cuz I'd never driven to the strip that early in the morning from the west side of town. Made it there with about 25 minutes to spare so I checked in a lil early and purused the Men's Spa. Snapped a few pics with my phone and uploaded them to Flickr. Quite a setup - lemme tell ya... the minute you walk in, it's just to peaceful and calm. I wish I had come extra early so I could have relaxed in the hot tub for a bit before my massage - but no matter.
My massage was... well... hmm... how do you explain being COMPLETELY RELAXED! Wow! Kiley - gurl - you got the touch! If anyone in Vegas needs a massage, go to the Bellagio and request Kiley! You'll walk out of there a changed person!
Now I just need that at least once a week... whatcha think Kiley?
See… what had happened was…
I love it when other people who don't know you comment on your photos on Flickr. I was checking the stats on my Flickr page and saw that someone had linked to my photos from our fabulous (read: GAY!) Slumber Party we had at the end of March. Of course, the first item he picked up on was the fact that Amir had to break off the plastic seal that was put on the liquor bottle by the store because they didn't take it off. An instead of taking it back with the receipt - they just hacked away at it with a hammer... great idea, right?
Well, this guy picked up on it and instead of posting the pics of the condiment facial, he posts them to his site. Good times! We need to have more parties... more specifically, more POOL PARTIES!
"chris pees sitting down"
1) No - not me, Chris - another Chris
2) I wouldn't believe the conversations Bill and I have unless they were recorded... this one was... LOL
That is all.
