Somebody better get iFired

July 13th, 2008 by Christopher

iFINALLY! After 15.75 hours (yes - HOURS), my iPhone is now running 2.0. I’m finally enjoying the Application Store and other enhancements along with the rest of the world - except - just as I suspected - no MMS. Damnit Jobs - what’s your issue? I challenge anyone to make an MMS App for the iPhone ASAP. It doesn’t have to be pretty - just be able to send/receive and save MMS photos. Really. That’s all. The iPhone is the only device that we carry that does not have MMS. Even NON-CAMERA PHONES have MMS. I digress…

Christine and Courtney from Apple spend 2 hours and 42 minutes with me trying to get my phone unbricked from the doom of the 2.0 iCatastrophe that was Friday. Uninstalled iTunes and all it’s partners in crime on my PC twice - but still it wouldn’t complete the restore to save it’s life. Long story short - after borrowing my roommate’s laptop - the restore went through - and I was then able to sync with my laptop and get everything back on it. I know one thing - I’m definitely not jailbreaking my phone again… I think that’s what has caused a lot of the problems… that and the idiot who signed off on launching 3 product launches (iTunes 7.7, 3G iPhone, 2.0 Software Update/App Store) in one day. No wonder their servers crashed. Lets hope the next update will go smoothly… and that it has frickin’ MMS! :-P (Definitely not holding my breath on that one tho!)
