consumerwhore.gifSo I was thinking the other day as I handed my credit card to the cashier at Starbucks…’they’ve raised the price of espresso again?!‘ Why is it so expensive to get a little caffeine?! I started to wonder how much money I’d “invested” in the coffee business over the years and started to calculate in my head how much I spent in a week… month… year?! Let’s lay out the math, shall we?

Quad (yes, 4 shots) Venti Cinnamon Dolce Latte = $5.73 (price after $0.10 hike in espresso cost)

$5.73 x Work Week (5 days) = $28.65

$28.65 x Month (4 weeks) = $114.60

$28.65 x Year (52 weeks) = $1,489.80!!

That’s crazy!!! I owe that much on one of my credit cards! Just think - I could be one step closer to debt-freeness if it weren’t for the hot strong addiction that espresso has on my daily routine. Blast!  Can I get a tax write-off or something?

I think if you get caffeine classified as a medical expense, you might be able to write it off. :)

I love coffee. It is a must. ;)

*goes to do something unnecessary while on a caffeine high*
