Pet Peeve :: Loud Ass Cellphones!

I think we've all dealt with it at one point or another. You're at the grocery store, or at work, in the park, eating at a restaurant... and all of a sudden a siren sounds. Everyone looks (and by everyone, I mean everyone) to see where the National Guard is going to storm in and give them instructions on how to avoid the radiation from a nuclear bomb... but no. It's not World War III; it's some ignorant putz's cell phone - blaring some busted up mix of Shakira. WTF! I can understand if you're like 90 and need to have the Cingular ring tone turned up all the way - but these are not the folks I'm describing. These people are teenagers (and now even children!) and adults with these loud ass ringtones who refuse to turn them down - even after countless angry glares from surrounding bystanders who are in fear of the next Hiroshima because of your Air Raid Siren.

Now, I work for a wireless carrier - and I understand your desire to have your favorite songs play as someone calls you; but there is a limit to how far those ringtones should extend in to the public's range of hearing. ESPECIALLY, if I'm sitting in the cubicle next to you ON A CONFERENCE CALL!
