Cancer.

Well… almost… but “pre-cancer” is still a very daunting thing to have to face… especially when you have a family history. Dysplasia is, by definition, an abnormal growth or development of cells, tissue, bone, or an organ. Knowing that it can be removed successfully takes a lot of the anxiety away - but not all of it. I was still anxious going to see the surgeon for the consult - I’m still nervous about the surgery this Friday - I’m sure I will be nervous about the follow-ups to check for regression. I just want it to be over with. I keep telling myself that I’m blowing it out of proportion - and I probably am - but I just can’t help feeling helpless and nervous about the whole situation.
