Cravings…

February 14th, 2005 by Christopher

There are so many cravings that we have each and everyday. Most of which are fulfilled since they are logical… you crave food, you get lunch… you’re thirsty, you get a drink… you want a raise, you show up on time… logical. Then there are the illogical cravings… the ones that have no purpose other than to satisfy a desire. They’re not necessary for survival or anything of the sort… but yet we pursue these cravings day-in, and day-out; hoping to get what we want in the end. And what happens when our cravings are not satisfied? What happens when what we crave the most, more than our logical, necessary cravings, is never answered? What about cravings which are not able to be fulfilled… impossible desires for something, or someone?

“Don’t Cry Out Loud”

Melissa Manchester

Baby cried the day the circus came to town
’cause she didn’t want parades just passin’ by her
So she painted on a smile and took up with some clown
While she danced without a net upon the wire
I know a lot about ‘er ’cause, you see
Baby is an awful lot like me

Don’t cry out loud
Just keep it inside, learn how to hide your feelings
Fly high and proud
And if you should fall, remember you almost had it all

Baby saw that when they pulled that big top down
They left behind her dreams among the litter
The different kind of love she thought she’d found
There was nothin’ left but sawdust and some glitter
But baby can’t be broken ’cause you see
She had the finest teacher-that was me-I told ‘er

Don’t cry out loud
Just keep it inside and learn how to hide your feelings
Fly high and proud
And if you should fall, remember you almost had it all

Don’t cry out loud
Just keep it inside and learn how to hide your feelings
Fly high and proud
And if you should fall, remember you almost made it

Don’t cry out loud
Just keep it inside and learn how to hide your feelings
Fly high and proud
And if you should fall, remember you almost had it all

And as I have developed the talent of hiding my feelings… so will I again this Valentine’s Day.
