"Guess what?" - "What?" - "They're gonna DO IT!"
OK so remember when I said I was going back to work? Um yea, no. That totally didn’t happen. I was on my way and was so proud because I was going to be early and make a good impression, etc etc. Well I’m getting onto 95 and all of a sudden I hear a pop and something break, then my back left tire locks and skids a lil bit. So I pull over, stop, and as soon as I make sure I’ve turned off the car I say ‘fuck’ about 20 times and almost beat the shit out of my car. As much as I’d like to type out what happened, it’s too long to explain… so I’ll just copy the IM I sent out to people who asked what happened…
(1:46:16 PM): As I’m pulling onto 95 I hear this pop, and I feel a small vibration so I start to pull over and then my tires feel like they locked and I skidded. Then got locked out of my car when I tried to see what was wrong. Then Highway Administration advised us to try to get it off the highway, so they wanted me to drive it. I was against it but they insisted, as I’m driving it, the vibration gets worse, and my mom who came with extra keys and was following from behind told me to stop because my back tire was becoming tilted. AFTER she was the one who said the car was fine. so after waiting over an hour and a half for AAA to tow my car to my house, I finally get home around 8… I left my house at 5.30 am.
(1:47:17 PM): oh and here’s the best part, since I’ve had no benifits and no income this past month that I’ve been out. I have NO money, so I don’t have anything to repair it with not to mention any money to pay ANY of my bills.
So yea, come to find out the spindle snapped and it only cost $200 to repair it. Plus waiting a WEEK! So I’ve had to pick up shifts at the Columbia Friday’s to pay for that and bills. Then I had to get the tire replaced cuz it had a flat mark on it from the skidding. Which cost another $50. So right night I’m gettin’ by financially by the skin of my teeth.
But things are looking up! I got a new job at AT&T Wireless in downtown Baltimore and I start March 1st. I can’t wait, this is something closer to my field (IT) and pays more than anything I’ve had before. I’m very greatful to a friend who gave me the position. It pays to know a lot of people.
Let’s see what else, OH! I have a photography shoot on Thursday! A photographer friend of Jason’s, Matt, saw the pics he took of me and said they were very good and that he’d like to show me his portfolio. Long story short, we’re goin’ to do a shoot on Thursday and maybe Saturday if plans work out. I’m so excited. This is something I’ve wanted for so long but it’s one of those things that you never expect to actually happen. So after this shoot I can put together a professional portfolio and if I ever happen to go to an agency I have something to show them. :) So yea, things are defintely looking up!
Aighty, time for me to get some sleep. I have a few errands to run tomorrow along with running by the hospital to turn in my id badge since I don’t work there anymore. (*tear*) I’ll miss my girls in Admitting and Outpatient Rehab.
G’night all!
