Herbie the Horizon!
Yea yea yea, I know… I haven’t updated this thing in a while… but believe me, I’ve got plenty to tell.
OK, so Sunday I was running up to the mall to meet up with a friend. I didn’t get up there until around 6.30 so I knew that everything was about to close. Anyway, I met up with Kevin and we talked for a few and then I told him I had better head out; so I leave and am walking to the doors to the walkway to the parking garage and go to push and nothing…. they were locked… all of them… I was like “SHIT!” I had already pulled out my keys and sunglasses. So I turn around and go back because, since I used to work in the mall, I knew there was a service corridor just around the corner that led to the same garage. As I’m walking back a family consisting of a mother, father, and their daughter, are walking towards the exit, all with hands full of shopping bags. The mother asks “are they locked?” and I said “yea, they’ve already locked them.” Now, I was going to be nice and say, “but there is another way out just down the hall.. I’ll show you,” but no, the bitch had to get ignorant. She starts yelling that I just let someone out and that their car was out there. As I stand there amazed at how stupid this woman is, I try to explain that the keys I’m holding are my own and that I do not work for the mall. I had my Friday’s uniform on (which consisted of a black polo and black pants). She still stood there insisting that I had let those people out and that I was lying. THEN some oriental woman starts yelling at me too… “MAI CARR IZ OUT DER!!” HOW HARD IS IT PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND THAT I DON’T WORK FOR THE MALL… the only people who knew I didn’t work for the mall were the father and daughter which we already walking back and leaving the mom behind. GEEZ!
Whew… ok, now that I’ve got that out of my system.
Monday was pretty bland… I went to work at the Hospital until 2, then went to Friday’s to PIC for Chris. Did that til 3am to help out Matt, since I don’t like leaving the last manager there alone. Health-wise, I should have gone home at 10 when he said I could, but I offered to help stay and cash everyone out, then I offered to do the drops and help with the closing reports. Anywho, I got home around 3.45 and knew I had to be up in an hour so I tried not to go to bed, but I ended up falling asleep and not waking up until around 6. When I did… I FELT HORRIBLE! My whole body was aching and my throat felt so hoarse. I was burning up, sneezing, and coughing, ugh… it wasn’t pretty. I tried to call out sick, but the only number I knew rang forever, so I got dressed and went all the way into work just to call out. Marsha (one of my supervisors) went nuts when I showed up like I did. She said she would have rathered me not show up at all and explain tomorrow than have had to come all the way in just to call out.
After that I went home and got plenty of sleep. Still felt pretty bad when I went to bed but felt a ton better when “mom” brought me DayQuil. I felt so loved today too…. everyone was all inquizative about where I was and if I was ok… Jackie was like “Where were you yesterday?! Cuz don’t even think that you wern’t missed bucko!”
That made my day… it even made me forget about the bitch who stood right at the counter and stared at me for 10 minutes while I set up, after I told her that I wasn’t open yet. She just stood in the same spot and stared at me until I opened, and then she was like, “I would like a coffee, I’d better hurry up before my intern finds me.” She was a patient, and I’m not too sure about serving patients, considering some of them are on a lot of medication. I need to ask “mom” about that tomorrow. Anywho…
OH YEA!!! I almost forgot to put this in here… my first week at the hospital, I’m parking my car and while doing so this bitch is staring at me as she’s walking by. I was a few minutes late and had decided to park in one of the visitor parking lots that NEVER fills up because I didn’t have enough time to go all the way around to the employee parking lot. Anyway, I’m walking up to the hospital and she’s walking into the Ambulatory Center which is right next to the hospital. I don’t even have my badge out and not wearing anything that would suggest that I’m a hospital employee. Anywho, I see her walk up the steps to the building and I’m walking up the ramp to the hospital; all of a sudden she comes down some other ramp and cuts me off and says “Do you work for the hospital?” (( Now, first off, I’m generally a nice guy… if I make a mistake and someone corrects me on it, I normally don’t lash out at them, UNLESS they are extremely rude about it. Keep that in mind… )) I replied “Yes,” and proceed to walk around her when she steps in front of me again and says “you need to move your car; that’s for patients only.” I responded by saying “I’m a little late, I’ll move it later,” and walked around her into the hospital. I heard the sound of her sucking her teeth as I walked away. About 3 or 4 hours later she walks into the hospital and walks past me asking if I had moved my car yet, to which I replied, “nope, haven’t had the chance.” Now if she had been nice about it and said something to the effect of “would you mind moving your car, that’s supposed to be for paitents only…” I would have had NO problem moving my car, even if I was half an hour late. But I will admit, I did move my car later that day…. WHEN I LEFT WORK! HAHA… stupid bitch.
I’d better get my stuff together for class and prepare to tell my teacher why I wasn’t there on Monday. I just hope that I didn’t miss too much. ![]()
